More embroidery: Princess Amanda
A customer requested for a personalised top and send me a graphic file of what she wants. And this gives more chance to explore my embroidery machine further, learning to convert graphic into embroidery patterns.Although I did this before, but this time I learnt a faster method to do the conversion, it still takes hours but it's consider much faster than last time, which I took days to convert. :)

Making better use of my embroidery machine
I got several plain t-shirts months ago, wanted to some embroidery, but didn't get to do so till few days ago.
Got these cheap t-shirts from Hang Ten, 3 for $10. They only come in black, otherwise I will buy loads of them :> The Piglet and Tigger embroidery patterns are original in the form of outline, and the one on the left is actually coloured, but I only embroidered the outline. I actually prefer the end result of the one on the left.
Hanhan wanted one too, and of course she got to select the design and t-shirt colour. I happened to have a pink plain polo T, so I made a matching mother and daughter set :) I'm now thinking of getting Daddy a plain top too, so that next time we can have a family set :))
More embroidering. Playing with using colour threads to filled up the pic and just using outline.

Embroidery
Remember the name embroidery I did last year?
One of the receivers, Patsy, likes it a lot and wanted something similar for a colleague, so she emailed me.
It always makes me very happy to receive a reorder and so is it in this case, because not only have I received an order, more importantly, this is an affirmation of my effort :)))Btw, it's been some time that I last use my embroidery machine, I really should make good use of it so that my money (or rather Daddy's) spent are more worthwhile :P

Testing testing 123
I have just picked out and washed the fabric for my next bag, while waiting for the fabric to dry I tested out what I intended to sew/embroider on the bag, on a piece of scrap fabric.

I like the effect of the overlapping lines, to create the sketching feel, but Daddy have doubt about that. Now I'm considering to go or not to go ahead with it. Actually I don't have much time to think about it, as I need to complete it before Friday. Besides that, I don't know what else should I do, maybe I should leave it plain. Maybe?!

From Uniform to Disney
These are actually Hanhan's Childcare Centre uniforms, but she only wore them for a week :P It's a waste to leave them in the wardrobe and I don't think it's nice for her to wear them as casual wear with the centre's badge on them. Therefore, the school badges are removed, and I embroidered them with Disney's characters, they look so much better now. Didn't do a good job for the Minnie Mouse, so it kind of look like pirated ones ;P
Machine embroidery wasn't as easy as what I first thought of, to get a really beautiful finish look require lots of experience I guess. There are so many factors that will affect the final product, so much so there is no one definate solution when a problem surfaces. Embroidering on ready made product, like this ready made T-shirt, is like taking a risk. Once the needle is down there is no turning back, and the texture of the fabric actually play a big part on how the finish look will be. Do a test embroidery? No way for a ready made product, unless you are willing to sacrifice one. So now you should know which one I embroidered first.

Just for you
This is a commissioned project received about a month ago.
I got an email from a lovely lady (not sure whether to mention name or not), who is getting married soon and she wanted to do some customization. I wasn't not confident about accepting the project as I couldn't handle the embroidery machine well, but she assured me that the sample I had made for her was great and she believed that I could do a good job. Isn't she sweet?! You see.... we do not know each other before this project, she actually got to know my email because of my sister's friend. She is very encouraging and really really nice...
Lucky for HL to get such a lovely lady as wife, may we wish them all the best and a loving happy marriage.

And these are what I have embroidered.
A total of 15 Pashmina shawls for her buddies. The shawls are so soft and comfortable, I really enjoyed embroidering and running my fingers through them.
Initials and date on handkerchiefs, to mark that important day of their lives.

Brother NV4000D
She has been with me for several months but I have yet to formally introduce her to everyone. She is Brother NV4000D. My latest additional to the sewing family.
Had a bit of tug-of-war with her when she just came to our home, but the more we work together the better it gets. Hope that in the near future she will be my right-hand machine, now Brother BM-2600 is still my best mate.

these in between the coughing and sneezing (horribe flu bug still lingering around the household). A total of 20 drawstring bags for little kids.
Was approached by a friend who does voluntary work to help out in one of their project. The initial idea was to embroider the name of the kids who are getting the bag with the logo, however, this was unable to be carried as the name list was not ready in time. What a pity, it would be more special for the kid, if their names are embroidered.

Hat
Another item completed. This is slightly bigger for her, but I think it will fit her very soon..jpg)
Intend to make her another hat from the same book, but will wait till I finish exploring my embroidery software. This is a testing piece, very crude, especially the white part.
Extracted and edited from this picture. The Marie cat is now one of Hanhan's favourites (She has a soft toy). You will be surprised by what she carrys around at home: Marie cat, Remy the rat and a little toy puppy which onced owned by me. The 3 animals which will chase after one another if they are alive. Hahaha.....
