It's another year. Fat Connection is officially 4 years old. <br />
Although managing Fat Connection is considered as my part time job besides being a Mummy, but there are times that it consumed more of my time than any other things.<br />
<br />
I love this job of mine, from fabric/(items) selection, photo taking, working on pattern, sewing, I have been enjoying every process (maybe not so on the listing online part). I really don't mind working like this till I'm old. Cheers to more years to come!Pauline Perhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07660719284630909773noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7238417867671919689.post-41995985983600854272013-02-28T13:18:00.000+08:002013-02-28T13:18:01.016+08:00My Big Little Girl<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<a href="http://www.blogger.com/"></a>Hanhan started Primary School this January. <br />
<br />
From Kindergarten afternoon 3 hours class to Primary School morning 6 hours class, it was a great change, but she adjusted to the changes very well. Not only that, she told me that she loves going to school. It's really a great relief, initiately I was still worried about it. This time, I brought my piggies to Public Garden @ National Museum on 23-24 Feb.<br />

All the while, Fat Connection is run solely by me, sometimes it can be rather frustration, knowing that there are so many things you want to do but due to time constraint there is only so much you can do.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I was really glad that this time I have Daddy to be my chauffeur and manual labour ;P and there was also my sister selling with me at the flea. Secretly I was praying that my sister can help me in more than just selling in flea market ;)</div>

Xinxin didn't open her eyes at all for the first few days when we are still in the hospital. I was kinda of worry about her eyes, but the doctor said she should be fine, some babies don't open their eyes till much later, because their eye lids are too puffy. It's was till about 3 weeks old that she first opened her eyes. It's a great relief to finally see her eyes open. Before that I onced tried to push open her eye lids, but the confinement auntie told me not to do that :P</div>

Received a few customised projects before 2012 ended. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I realised working on customised projects help me to explore areas that I have yet to touch on and help me to learn more. It really feels good to be able to create new things.</div>

Made a new dress for Hanhan recently. It's been a really long time since I last made clothing for her. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP2HWb9trK7jqpEN8NL935So0i32OOkVal_GGa8pZ3sg2X8DXsR5At4jZk5MT-COtClmnacY5Pg-q-79yqNxzX7hMu82o6TQnFbwcvE9g1LOncXJ2jXUr8_Eb6h1JqebTq4F6CsSiIl9k/s1600/IMG_9555+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgP2HWb9trK7jqpEN8NL935So0i32OOkVal_GGa8pZ3sg2X8DXsR5At4jZk5MT-COtClmnacY5Pg-q-79yqNxzX7hMu82o6TQnFbwcvE9g1LOncXJ2jXUr8_Eb6h1JqebTq4F6CsSiIl9k/s640/IMG_9555+copy.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hanhan has grown much taller now, and has outgrow most of the clothings I made for her, so she has been wearing store bought t-shirts and pants all this while. She is really happy to get her new Mummy-Made dress (with her favourite fabric choice of course!) but she is not really willing to take photos in it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjDw_f_MS_lW4zChTCKTFVT0AbV8P4pLLOqSOC3YQq2r9jV2e39fhH9dFdXJ9dOUMRZAiAuuNIaNW8C5jvBoJN4k9hghT_GpT7h4UPNkML1bXEmJuhlET6YtpcTYlW3_x_CXuX_IJ_JPg/s1600/IMG_9553+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjDw_f_MS_lW4zChTCKTFVT0AbV8P4pLLOqSOC3YQq2r9jV2e39fhH9dFdXJ9dOUMRZAiAuuNIaNW8C5jvBoJN4k9hghT_GpT7h4UPNkML1bXEmJuhlET6YtpcTYlW3_x_CXuX_IJ_JPg/s640/IMG_9553+copy.jpg" width="414" /></a></div>
These are the second set of photos I took, the first set she is all grumpy. Now she enjoys taking photo of others rather than have her photos taken.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjQM-GqFQ5RGV995pZy63iU2xboublRX3wfjcCaEdHcXkh6xfa-pkgTX_ry5u_ALAnpqU2g738dCpIjA_Q3g7HB6-5cQxUr8WlgzzrKZbnLVagj6_JhUq4W3u_4VOxw6csjPROmJqHLFQ/s1600/IMG_9557+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjQM-GqFQ5RGV995pZy63iU2xboublRX3wfjcCaEdHcXkh6xfa-pkgTX_ry5u_ALAnpqU2g738dCpIjA_Q3g7HB6-5cQxUr8WlgzzrKZbnLVagj6_JhUq4W3u_4VOxw6csjPROmJqHLFQ/s640/IMG_9557+copy.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
I hope she will continue to enjoy wearing the clothings I make for her.Pauline Perhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07660719284630909773noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7238417867671919689.post-55993217719551100572012-12-20T00:00:00.000+08:002012-12-20T00:00:11.422+08:00Merry Christmas!! I will be back really soon!I must say that it's really difficult for me to start blogging again when I have stopped for so long. To me blogging is a bit like writing composition for a Primary school kid, except that I'm not graded.... so still not that bad.... Furthermore I like to read my past posts, they bring back lots of memories :) <br />
<br />
Here I wish all a Merry Christmas! And don't forget that our CHRISTMAS PROMOTION ends on 21 Dec, catch it if you can!<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
Here's an update on shop</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
before I try to keep up to date with what's going on for the past few months of my life.<br />
<br />
I have also listed the following pouches and bags into Fat Connection shop. Some are made for last MAAD market (Oops! That more than a year ago!) Some are my photo sample for sewing lessons, and some are sewn just because sewing is so much fun! <br />
Yes, sewing is fun but listing them in shop aren't really that fun, so that's why I only list them in shop now....... I'm really terrible :(</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8467/8144989124_5afb6325b5_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8467/8144989124_5afb6325b5_b.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Cute little boxy pouches. They are just about the size of your palm. Don't think that because they are small means they are easier to do, same amount of time and work is required to make them, and I think it is quite a lot of work as compared to its' size.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8466/8144964467_c8f9e1b65a_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="224" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8466/8144964467_c8f9e1b65a_b.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Simple zippered pouches. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I sewed when I'm really in need of some sewing therapy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Reversible hobo bag and reversible Japanese knot bag. <br />
I love to sew reversible bags. When there are so many beautiful fabrics at home waiting for me, I just can't decide which to use as the main/exterior fabric, making reversible bag kind of solved the problem ;)</div>

<a href="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8281/7809076106_d35840a93d_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8281/7809076106_d35840a93d_b.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I made another car seat cover again to replace <a href="http://fat-connection.blogspot.sg/2011/05/my-latest-sewing-project.html" target="_blank">the old one</a>. There are quite a lot of lints (do you call that lints??) coming out from the batting, so got to replace it so that baby Xinxin can have a nice cozy seat in the car. This time I made sure that there is an extra layer between the batting and the exterior fabric to prevent the same misfortune. I also added extra batting, so now the seat is much more comfortable than the previous one, and of course much more comfortable than the original cover. And I didn't bother worrying that the seat will get dirty easily, we just choose the sweet "<a href="http://fatconnection.com.sg/japanese-fabrics/599-zoo-animalspink-japanese-cotton-fabric.html" target="_blank">zoo animal(pink)</a>", so Hanhan complaint how come hers (the previous car seat cover) is not as nice this Xinxin's :P</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7268/7809085944_a0f42c200e_b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7268/7809085944_a0f42c200e_b.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After making so many art folios, I finally made one for Hanhan. She was very happy to see the completed art folio and immediately drew with it. Again fabric chosen by her, reason being the print on the fabric looks like crayon doodle. Yes, a prefect match for its usage :> And yes, it's the same up as Xinxin's car seat!</div>

<br />
I have done quite a bit of sewing during my pregnancy and I have yet to blog about. Maybe I should start with projects that I have sewed for myself.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaiVoJ12h95ydnqgDJzA891VrQtuaSCWs3m5Jq4yNB0dOCEH7XWYVlVDliAzQ_DRQrOzpegD6_bz5TyBe07AH4Rin6mV4pPldr1WXi6Da17gROMLT54lcKsaWAukbWqcpRD4AHIMby0UQ/s1600/IMG_4410+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaiVoJ12h95ydnqgDJzA891VrQtuaSCWs3m5Jq4yNB0dOCEH7XWYVlVDliAzQ_DRQrOzpegD6_bz5TyBe07AH4Rin6mV4pPldr1WXi6Da17gROMLT54lcKsaWAukbWqcpRD4AHIMby0UQ/s320/IMG_4410+copy.jpg" width="240" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6HZ4H8O_nXWnMyTiqz2loF2Cllc6ipKws1LUrXdsEZhxvmlC_VbfmiRc0ZnDDjTmTjJTF_2aExwiNScUoOrrtPQKEreV9cF5RI3RNapmP99LqNH4qdiWUMd7Vwyg832wDIXYlXOoXHN0/s1600/IMG_4495+copy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Fabric used: </span><a href="http://fatconnection.com.sg/japanese-fabrics/483-dots-purple-japanese-cotton-fabric.html" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Dots (purple)</span></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
One for me and one for Hanhan</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Was in a dilemma to sew or not to sew for myself at then. I have not been to any dressmaking class and wasn't good at making clothes for myself. If I have a prefect body, using the pattern directly from pattern books will work, but too bad..... that's not the case, furthermore, with my big tummy, no pattern in the books I have will work. Modify is the only way out.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I spent lots of time flipping through books and finally settled to the most basic pattern : peasant top</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It is loose fitting and by lengthening just the front portion, the top is now long enough to accomodate my growing tummy :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This dress is sewed based on my draft and measurement. I didn't make any full size pattern paper, I just draw and cut directly on the fabric, because I started this project on the Eve of Chinese New Year Eve. And the other top was actually done just a day before this. However, I would like to say that drawing and cutting directly on the fabric is both intimidating and <a href="http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=shiok" target="_blank">shiok</a> :P </div>Pauline Perhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07660719284630909773noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7238417867671919689.post-25486466423542921842012-06-09T12:13:00.000+08:002012-06-09T12:13:51.167+08:00Our New Family Member<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

With God's blessing, the delivery was smooth and fast. She popped out less than 5 hrs after the labour pain started. And blur me only started my journey to the hospital after an hour of pain, when I am sure that it's true labour pain, when the intensity of pain increased so fast that I don't want to wait any longer.</div>

During postnatal review with my gynea, the nurse chatted with me. She said that I should have my 2nd baby earlier, as the smaller the age gap is between the children, the faster and easier it is to deliver the second one. And I half jokingly told her that if I had my 2nd one a few years earlier, I might have given birth in the cab :P </div>Pauline Perhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07660719284630909773noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7238417867671919689.post-16269031583633356302012-03-24T20:38:00.004+08:002012-03-24T20:49:33.074+08:00Fat Connection 3rd Anniversary Sale!<a href="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7253/6854248574_5aa391066b.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 500px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 205px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7253/6854248574_5aa391066b.jpg" /></a>Busy busy, because I'm now busy with Fat Connection 3 years old celebration!! :)<br /><br />Fat Connection is currently have SALE!! It was a really simple celebration. Daddy is busy with his course assignment, while I'm too tired to do much. Yes, I'm pregnant and felt much more tired than it was in my first pregnancy. Her school brought her there this year for school excursion, and she is really excited about going there again. She didn't get to do the "longkang"(small drain) fishing when she went with the school, so she got to try it this time round.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV0qEWF0aT2cxtnnlynb0t2ZdZdynjFC75k-Bl1aPiJ6spqKTwTzYc6DIrPVpKygMyyIaQD_yCz-NIVU5WYERXg59F2P-piNbHjpxR5fmUVZWOX8JFe_xxIxff1aMCmqIhuNye7vRbr24/s1600/302569_2130708993737_1426350297_31864291_851688540_n.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 267px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5671930877417741906" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiV0qEWF0aT2cxtnnlynb0t2ZdZdynjFC75k-Bl1aPiJ6spqKTwTzYc6DIrPVpKygMyyIaQD_yCz-NIVU5WYERXg59F2P-piNbHjpxR5fmUVZWOX8JFe_xxIxff1aMCmqIhuNye7vRbr24/s400/302569_2130708993737_1426350297_31864291_851688540_n.jpg" /></a>It wasn't easy to catch these little fishes. I managed to catch a few. Hanhan almost gave up trying, but after some persuasion and persevere, she also managed to catch a few. As for Daddy, he did it with ease. It really amazed me when he just swing the net blindly under the little bridge where the fishes hid and caught several of them with just one scoop. What good luck!<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbtRPDsg8DLDQnKLfdR4czFGiJauYVh7DWs8K031L053A5wVU6kWvXVGL6GyueHLfp3AdXjSyjxOHr-vzH1j0l0-OJPK4yN0x3xPvzAaShYi1CvNNx6g8xTe7WgjgOJGyvcBitsZN98T8/s1600/IMG_3850.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5671930878187564594" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbtRPDsg8DLDQnKLfdR4czFGiJauYVh7DWs8K031L053A5wVU6kWvXVGL6GyueHLfp3AdXjSyjxOHr-vzH1j0l0-OJPK4yN0x3xPvzAaShYi1CvNNx6g8xTe7WgjgOJGyvcBitsZN98T8/s400/IMG_3850.JPG" /></a> </div>Hanhan was very happy to know that we could bring that the fishes home. We went to get fish tank and air pump from her grandpa, and bought the fishes some food too. But by the next day, all the fishes are dead. Although Daddy had told us that these fishes are usually bought as food for bigger fishes, and they don't live long, and we have got Hanhan prepared for it, but I'm still sad and surprised that they are all wiped out by the next day. Hanhan didn't make a fuss about it, but I know that she was sad about it too.<br /><br />And one week after this incident, her grandpa bought her a packet of "longkang" fishes, but they met with the same fate. Hanhan was really sad this time and kept asking why did all the fishes die, we can't answer her as we had done what we know and I wonder why too. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQbaEC4tluwA7CscPrEiwKUcg7ZmopJMoz1ymCMgJAbOKRvQZGLkvZdfBkhpl4p1vQmLdqUimyEKcl3sAZko5D1V7H9AfARbV5azQmiEuD8TXefuwIVoGvBheD55lqZX2hqWwuW4cdJqc/s1600/IMG_3851.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5671930891714309378" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQbaEC4tluwA7CscPrEiwKUcg7ZmopJMoz1ymCMgJAbOKRvQZGLkvZdfBkhpl4p1vQmLdqUimyEKcl3sAZko5D1V7H9AfARbV5azQmiEuD8TXefuwIVoGvBheD55lqZX2hqWwuW4cdJqc/s400/IMG_3851.JPG" /></a>Hanhan wanted to keep a pet, and since "Puppy" and "Power" had died around June after living to a ripe old age, we told her that we might get her something else but we had made it clear to her that we are not keeping fishes again, at least not "longkang" fish. When grandpa knew what happened to the fishes, he wanted to buy another batch for Hanhan, but Daddy told him that we don't intend to keep fishes, maybe we will get a terrapin instead and her grandpa said that he will buy it for Hanhan. :P We will see about it then. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ9iM1OKELUrfhbPN_A6zhYkOOx7pYOpZmVJcnnzl5H9pCCKeS8wfiIcy2TAffSMHZLWS-o9Q0euuVkZtc-e4_W3O96NtKB9B7VEKq5J_h1Sz4DaYoHEE9708d5TrII9ODOCOMN8Kl_bQ/s1600/IMG_3853.JPG"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5671930895901321042" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJ9iM1OKELUrfhbPN_A6zhYkOOx7pYOpZmVJcnnzl5H9pCCKeS8wfiIcy2TAffSMHZLWS-o9Q0euuVkZtc-e4_W3O96NtKB9B7VEKq5J_h1Sz4DaYoHEE9708d5TrII9ODOCOMN8Kl_bQ/s400/IMG_3853.JPG" /></a> My 5 year old<br /><br /><ul><br /><li>likes to hold our hands and swing like a monkey after the count of 3</li><br /><br /><li>walks faster than her mummy and likes to say "walk faster"</li><br /><br /><li>likes to imitate her Daddy</li><br /><br /><li>likes to talk a lot</li><br /><br /><li>likes to watch VCD again and again</li><br /><li>likes to say "how long is this going to take"</li><br /><br /><li>is growing more and more independent.</li><br /><br /><li>scored full marks for all her English spelling and makes her mummy proud.</li><br /><br /><li>promised to teach and play with her baby brother/sister :) </li></ul>Pauline Perhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07660719284630909773noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7238417867671919689.post-25893961052532204282011-10-05T23:22:00.005+08:002011-10-06T01:59:25.577+08:00Photography Session<div align="center">Daddy is recently back to school as a student for a short course. The idea of doing all the time consuming assignments is killing him but he found some joys in it nevertheless. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjapd_S8378Zv6NIpx9va0wPt-8DXaGpBylWcxhtPNpfF6JRBgl8_1pQN9nSPCecUmhZDiYFRB6qUoSGoDBwxkI7srzDgOSC0EB2NBIwHPZiFiVLpdTb9J1c0qbeYrelDtf0_jC2bsyxJE/s1600/308337_2027688538290_1426350297_31786080_976888468_n+copy.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 267px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5660056899646318242" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjapd_S8378Zv6NIpx9va0wPt-8DXaGpBylWcxhtPNpfF6JRBgl8_1pQN9nSPCecUmhZDiYFRB6qUoSGoDBwxkI7srzDgOSC0EB2NBIwHPZiFiVLpdTb9J1c0qbeYrelDtf0_jC2bsyxJE/s400/308337_2027688538290_1426350297_31786080_976888468_n+copy.jpg" /></a>One of his assignments is studio shoots. And we are really lucky that one of his friends who owns a studio is kind enough to lend it to us. Our little model wasn't really cooperative since the photos are taken after her school and she was a little tired. But with me as assistant, we finally managed to get some decent shoots. :)<br /><br />I love the photos and hopefully we can take a four person family photo shoots in a studio soon.<br /><br /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5660068359087300354" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGMGh_XPsYoYuNEdakr_N81SeZx0DyGUnQyYC3mmc3ttmyOVDylN6UwVhES5M1Az-111Xw-WNFTwLl_qKxR1hvFLmcZwxPOqiBzuhrOffvZdlXqZ519VRsL2_3D5ljc0uWNx1afkeeP2M/s400/IMG_4136.JPG" /> <br /><p align="center">R<span style="font-size:78%;"><span style="font-size:85%;">ecent read :)</span></span></p>Pauline Perhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07660719284630909773noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7238417867671919689.post-21693419800112125972011-09-08T23:50:00.000+08:002011-09-09T00:25:08.527+08:00Eiffel of Paris - Big Tote BagTo me, planning to make a dress or bag always takes up more time then the actual sewing itself. However, there are also many times that I have to sew and make changes along the way. <a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6202/6126949979_ab6314829d.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 500px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 334px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6202/6126949979_ab6314829d.jpg" /></a>I spent several days just planning how to make use of <a href="http://fatconnection.com.sg/japanese-fabrics/451-eiffel-of-parisapurple-japanese-cotton-linen-blend-fabric.html">this fabric</a>. And when I finally cut into it, I have to take a photo :P It's one big step forward, away from mind playing and procrastination.<br /><a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6207/6127496582_7fdbccac6a.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 500px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 334px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6207/6127496582_7fdbccac6a.jpg" /></a>Making the interior. First time making hidden zippered pocket, not that difficult, but workmanship still has room for improvement.<a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6190/6126945029_5dc002d473.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 334px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 500px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6190/6126945029_5dc002d473.jpg" /></a> Side A of the bag. <img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 500px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 334px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6205/6127491114_634ab085d1.jpg" /> Side B of the bag, with both ends tucked in.<br />This gives the bag a different look from the previous photo. And did you realised that the fabric on all 4 sides are different? :) I love how versatile this bag can be. <a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6078/6127496420_ffe67ee5c3.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 333px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 500px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6078/6127496420_ffe67ee5c3.jpg" /></a> Details at the side pocket. The fold at bottom of the side pockets is one of the change as I sew and I'm glad that make this change, as it makes the bag sweeter.<br /><a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6068/6126943973_1565169340.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 500px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 334px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6068/6126943973_1565169340.jpg" /></a>Make use of the fabric, all the way to the fabric edge, and add a bit of uniqueness to the bag.<br /><a href="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6191/6126943609_fb22ae2b8a.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 500px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 334px; CURSOR: hand" border="0" alt="" src="http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6191/6126943609_fb22ae2b8a.jpg" /></a> Interior of the bag. One hidden zipper pocket, 2 big pockets, key latch and 2 snap buttons. <br /><p>When I completed this big bag, a customer of mine, happened to use the Eiffel of Paris(B) to make <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pages/Fat-Connection/109405759099816#!/photo.php?fbid=244356708938053&set=a.122767774430281.8654.109405759099816&type=1&theater">these</a>.</p><br /><p>I'm still left with 1 big (the floral one that she made into the tote bag) and 1 small piece. I'm tempted to make something similar to hers, but I hope that I can think of something else to make. But most probably I will get myself into doing other projects before I can think of any :P</p>Pauline Perhhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07660719284630909773noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7238417867671919689.post-8848347482653647072011-08-15T21:06:00.001+08:002011-08-15T21:07:35.437+08:00My first MAAD experience<div align="center">Thank you all who had came over to give me your support! :)</div>

<br /><div align="center">Have been wanting to go for Art market for a long long time, now I'm finally going...... I realised that I have so few items to sell, so I have been really busy sewing for the past few weeks.
<br />
<br />These are some of the items that I will be bringing to MAAD.

And that includes create mess :P<br /><br />Well.... , what I really want to say is that I finally harden my heart to clear away a big piles of clothes from my wardrobe. I have many clothes that are worn out, too old(according to Daddy) or too small (hm.... maybe something else should just stop growing) and they are sitting in the wardrobe for way too long. When they are finally gone, I realised that I need some pants badly.<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1XIoVXKpqCH_NZcpSh65QA-QKkIoMsBkVRhb1BqAo9QrwkNKpvt6SsL-RCC8f_SuJeqFmEdCVbfjckbFfwApel8BHXWUU4o2jB7s-Ib7nIquoyND1MApKkKh3rbIaF6uDnwbMW4mljB8/s1600/IMG_0736%2528smaller%2529.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 300px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5634069319783284130" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj1XIoVXKpqCH_NZcpSh65QA-QKkIoMsBkVRhb1BqAo9QrwkNKpvt6SsL-RCC8f_SuJeqFmEdCVbfjckbFfwApel8BHXWUU4o2jB7s-Ib7nIquoyND1MApKkKh3rbIaF6uDnwbMW4mljB8/s400/IMG_0736%2528smaller%2529.jpg" /></a>And sometimes, it easier to make a pair for myself than shopping for a suitable one. This is made during the June holiday. I'm really behind time in blogging my handmade, have made several more things that I have not blogged.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIj51_LFRt8GMwjmq9VrzT1xBtpQ1No_DF8YRRw1TowKRWenRTq8PGxj6yPCtb_487kOqMTyupSPIPWJmAp7WgqlrTYCcyjim5SvSdRg48GKKNOWialjDmYQXJI5AHRa9YkHDOrrgsSRM/s1600/IMG_0911+%2528smaller%2529.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 267px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5634067997971112722" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIj51_LFRt8GMwjmq9VrzT1xBtpQ1No_DF8YRRw1TowKRWenRTq8PGxj6yPCtb_487kOqMTyupSPIPWJmAp7WgqlrTYCcyjim5SvSdRg48GKKNOWialjDmYQXJI5AHRa9YkHDOrrgsSRM/s400/IMG_0911+%2528smaller%2529.jpg" /></a>And this is what happened to one pair of pants that no longer fit. For Zoo and Bird Park, we are regulars. We can roam round the park without a map and know what animals are ahead of us. I think we have been there too often, specially the Zoo, such that it is just a touch and go thing for Hanhan. The next time we go there, I might create a worksheet so that she has some tasks to do, so that the trip will be more meaningful.<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633907920614623010" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8XYHLJcy69xOdH22DJU-78gMZl5UH3-VMIZjAfUpdKxVVjAEB_WsKiT9fu4cqdT6MybV7Qkp2h6WlXKHOfROGgXiWNTvLtchrf-dXSmvGivNmfFGcYcP1HKUlcpIAUTxjx0ngqbv4cnQ/s400/281679_1873669087900_1426350297_31617273_4829687_n.jpg" /> <br /><p align="center">At the Zoo. Many years ago, a mother and her son are killed when the dam released water back to the sea. For us, we got stuck in the mud when we wandered into the muddy area in the marsh. I really mean stuck, my legs are about 15cm into the mud. We couldn't lift our feet out of the mud, no matter how hard we tried. I felt that my sandals are strapped to the mud and holding me down, and it's only when I decided to leave my sandals in the mud that I'm able to lift my feet up. And I had to dig my hand deep into the mud to pull out my sandals. Hanhan was scared, she kept shouting for help, her legs are deep in the mud too. When we were making our way out, an uncle saw us and said that we should go by the other way, where it's less muddy. And we realised that the muddy area seems to be much darker in colour. I think we looked really silly stuck in the mud, while others around us are okay and enjoying themselves. </div><br /><div align="left"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjv2tznjYAhopowJhgNClbM8vU2ES-c4ZCXYr4A3zDLd_H_FyAWCNxfC7glNL4PLL_amFHmmuNIOmdpVf7Goi-Qsp-vBtqmpidsQHIPB7iKR4VXugNId-iIlJPxY8s0kgs0LmbEEMFtWxU/s1600/IMG_0919%2528smaller%2529.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 267px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5633728195109154482" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjv2tznjYAhopowJhgNClbM8vU2ES-c4ZCXYr4A3zDLd_H_FyAWCNxfC7glNL4PLL_amFHmmuNIOmdpVf7Goi-Qsp-vBtqmpidsQHIPB7iKR4VXugNId-iIlJPxY8s0kgs0LmbEEMFtWxU/s400/IMG_0919%2528smaller%2529.jpg" /></a>The first thing we did after leaving the muddy area, was to wash our legs and footwears.
